Le graphique de la courbe de performance de la pompe indique sur l&rsquo;axe des abscisses le d\u00e9bit, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire la quantit\u00e9 de fluide pouvant \u00eatre d\u00e9plac\u00e9e dans un intervalle de temps donn\u00e9, et sur l&rsquo;axe des ordonn\u00e9es la hauteur manom\u00e9trique, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire l\u2019\u00e9nergie disponible pouvant \u00eatre transf\u00e9r\u00e9e au fluide. \u00c0 mesure que le d\u00e9bit augmente, la hauteur manom\u00e9trique disponible diminue.<\/p><p>La courbe de puissance absorb\u00e9e (P) [kW] repr\u00e9sente, sur l&rsquo;axe des ordonn\u00e9es, la puissance \u00e9lectrique utilis\u00e9e caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par rapport au d\u00e9bit Q requis. \u00c0 la puissance absorb\u00e9e par la pompe elle-m\u00eame, il faut multiplier le poids sp\u00e9cifique du liquide pour pouvoir d\u00e9finir la puissance n\u00e9cessaire et par cons\u00e9quent le moteur correct \u00e0 installer. \u00c0 la valeur obtenue, il est recommand\u00e9 d&rsquo;ajouter 10-20\u00a0% comme marge de s\u00e9curit\u00e9.<\/p><p>Le rendement (\u03b7) est la relation entre la puissance fournie et la puissance r\u00e9ellement utilis\u00e9e et d\u00e9pend du point de travail requis. Il est important de s&rsquo;assurer que la pompe s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9e, au d\u00e9bit requis, fonctionne dans la zone de rendement maximal (point d\u2019efficacit\u00e9 maximale \u2013 BEP, Best Efficiency Point), \u00e9vitant ainsi une s\u00e9lection en d\u00e9but ou en fin de
